Why “Moon Child”?
I was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, in a “moon village” located behind the richest neighborhood, Gangnam. These impoverished ghettos are called that because the poor live in the hills (now they live below ground, in basements), which are “closer to the moon.”
I’ve always wanted to share compelling visual stories, art, and notes on my thoughts throughout the journey from those poverty-driven beginnings to my current life as a female technical entrepreneur in AI in Silicon Valley, and so I started this publication with the goal of helping others going through difficult situations to keep the dream alive and to challenge the status quo.
